Flowing Hair Liberty; small eagle. Two leaves vs. three leaves on 1795. The 1794 is the first U.S. silver dollar.
History
1,758 pieces dated 1794; perhaps 150 survive. The Cardinal Collection specimen set a record as the first dollar. 1795 is the obtainable type. These coins were heavy enough to compete with the Spanish milled dollar that actually ran American commerce.
